Alpine Habitat Diversity - HABITALP
Work package 11 - Evaluation of further applications

Management: Nationalpark Berchtesgaden
Duration: 04/2004 – 09/2006

One main objective of work package 11 is to look back on the project’s achievements with regard to its potentials and deficiencies and to look forward on possible improvements and future applications.

In addition to this a content management system is developed in order to complement the transnational spatial database of work package 9 with a public storage medium for all project results that are descriptive and can therefore not be visualized by the map server application and web GIS techniques. This will improve long term project documentation and facilitate monitoring and transfer activities.

Both tasks will be realized on the alpine project level by the external expert E.C.O. Institut für Ökologie (ECO) and receive support by some other experts of the project group.

Another important aspect of work package 11 is the integrative use of HABITALP interpretation data and other thematic maps of the protected areas. For five selected topics the national parks Berchtesgaden and Hohe Tauern will compile their local pilot experiences and recommendations. On the alpine level ECO will aggregate these local contributions into common alpine recommendations for all project partners.
