Alpine Habitat Diversity - HABITALP
Work package 4 - Information and publicity activities

Management: Consorzio del Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio
Duration: 11/2002 – 10/2006

The HABITALP project's information and publicity (I&P) activities take place simultaneously on an internal and external level.

In cooperation with the external experts of work package 4 E.C.O. Institut für Ökologie and Ettore Zanon the project results are synthesized on different levels of detail to present them in appropriate way to various internal and external target groups. On the alpine level common I&P products will thus emerge for the entire project group. A folder, a booklet and a comprising project report are foreseen.

Further I&P activities consist of individual project presentations through different media by the project members. Alpine wide actions take place through the Alpine Network of Protected Areas. At the local level, this is done by the project partners. Local, regional and alpine external experts deliver contributions as well. The Berchtesgaden National Park collects and digitizes all I&P products which can be scanned and assembles them in a press archive.

A final conference is foreseen to take place in Berchtesgaden during the project termination phase. It will offer the opportunity to present the project results to an international and public audience.

The internal I&P work encompasses the entire communication within the project group and with a close circle of interested people in the participating protected areas and institutions. For this work, project partners mainly use email correspondence, data exchange via ftp servers, a web discussion forum, technical workshops and management conferences. As a concrete result of internal I&P work, one could note the transmission of know-how within the project group.

The documentation of the most important contents and results on this homepage serves for both internal and external purposes. In addition, the work packages 6, 9 and 11 develop specific internet solutions that provide public access to detailed scientific project results.
